At time of launch, the Voadfone 150 was described as "the world's cheapest phone". It had an unsubsidised price of around $15. It had a one-inch black and white screen and was manufacturered by TCL. It was first launched in India and 6 markets in Africa – The Democratic Republic of Congo,  Kenya, Mozambique, Qatar, South Africa and Tanzania.
