Features

The VE66 was Motorola’s second phone with a five-megapixel camera (the first was the Kodak-branded Moto ZINE ZN5). It had a dedicated camera key, LED flash and was also notable for having Wi-Fi support. It was powered by the company’s Linux-based MOTOMAGX OS and also featured the first widgets integration on a Motorola phone. At launch, Motorola executive Tracey Koziol stated that the phone delivered “on consumer’s demand for more personalized listening and imaging experiences on a mobile phone.” The phone also supported Motorola’s CrystalTalk technology which amplified conversations and helped to reduce background noise. It also had a second microphone, which helped eliminate more ambient background noise during a call. The phone also featured an MP3 player with USB 2.0 and an integrated FM radio.
