Features

The V630i was a 3G phone made by Sony Ericsson exclusively for Vodafone. It was based on the Sony Ericsson K610. The phone supported a range of capabilities delivered via the Vodafone live! service. Vodafone and Sony Ericsson were particularly proud of the inclusion of Vodafone’s Radio DJ service. This allowed users to create their own music channels by rating tracks as they listened to them. The more they listened to and rated tracks, the more intuitive and personalized the music channel became. Users could also buy music directly from Vodafone, storing up to 230 tracks on the 256MB Memory Stick Micro (M2) card which was supplied with the V630i. Other Vodafone live! 3G services included access to Mobile TV, video messaging and video telephony. Vodafone claimed the V630i was “a dynamic phone that is fun to use, appealing to young music lovers seeking the freedom and choice offered by the latest mobile technologies.” The phone’s design was described as being “sporty with neat orange highlights” that picked out the dedicated music player and rocker keys on the side of the device as well as the loudspeaker on the back of the V630i. Beyond its music features, the V630i featured a two-megapixel camera with digital zoom, email, a full HTML browser and a 1.9-inch colour display.
