The strikingly designed TCE 121 (Type: THX6XW) was a Swatch-branded variant of the Nokia 101 phone which worked on first-generation TACS networks.  It is widely regarded as one of the first-ever fashion-centric phones. It was available in four colours: red/blue (model: TCE 121), blue marine (model: TCE 122), green (model: TCE 123) and clear plastic. It was seen as revolutionary compared to most other phones which were usually made with black plastic. Notably, this is widely considered to be the world's first mobile phone with a translucent case. The phone was offered in the UK - including as part of an exclusive agreement for the red variant with the Vodafone network. However, due to extremely protracted brand licensing negotiations, by the time the phone was ready to be sold, it had become virtually obsolete. 15,000 units of the Vodafone variant ended up being scrapped and put into a landfill site in Finland having never been sent to the UK.  The phone was more successful in the Italian market but ultimately was a failure for Swatch who abandoned the mobile phone market.
