The ZTE Tania (model number: V965W) was unveiled at the PT Expo Comm event which was held in Beijing in 2011. With the launch of this phone, ZTE became the first Chinese company to manufacture a Microsoft Windows device. The Tania used Windows Phone 7.5 (known as Mango), had a 4.3-inch TFT screen, auto focus five-megapixel camera, 1GHz processor and supported HSPA+, When the phone shipped in China the processor was updated to run at 1.4 GHz, while the units sold in Europe remained at 1 GHz. At launch, it was the cheapest Windows Phone device ever offered in the UK at just £199 (US$270). The trade-off for this low price was a relatively poor screen, average camera and only 4GB of storage – but overall it was offered great value as an affordable smartphone.
