Features

This exclusive variant of the Siemens SX1 was unveiled at the CeBIT exhibition in 2004. It has been reported that only 200 units were made (however other information suggests it could have been 1000 units). Similar to its more mainstream stablemate, it also featured a quirky keyboard on the sides of the device (a design also seen on the Nokia 7600 - released in 2003).  This made it extremely difficult to use despite the inclusion of a game called “Typegun” designed to help familiarise users with the keyboard layout. It was also one of the first devices to have an augmented reality game called Mozzies. The McLaren Edition also had customised animations and wallpaper designs featuring the McLaren MP4-19 Formula 1 car and its drivers, David Coulthard and Kimi Raikkonen. Other exclusive variants of the SX1 were two Mille Miglia editions (one which comprised 500 units and another of 99 units).  These were introduced to celebrate the 1000-mile endurance race held in Italy from 1927 to 1957 (won by Stirling Moss in 1955). There was also a 50-unit limited edition known as the Siemens SX1 F1 Bahrain 2004 edition.
