Features

The Samsung GT-S5611 (also known as the Samsung Primo/Utopia) had a 2.4-inch TFT LCD display and a five-megapixel camera which supported smile detection and could capture video in QVGA resolution at 30fps. The camera’s LED light could be used as a torch. It also had an FM radio which could be recorded. The S5611 is a largely unremarkable feature phone, other than the fact that it appeared in the James Bond film Spectre, which was released in 2015. In the film, the Samsung branding had been removed. The storyline was that the phone was sent to Moneypenny (Naomie Harris) disguised as a gift. Bond was then able to communicate with her while he was on an unsanctioned mission to get intelligence on Spectre, the criminal organisation behind the assassin Marco Sciarra. The phone was given to Moneypenny in a dark grey paper box wrapped with a grey satin ribbon. There was a handwritten card in the box which said: “Thank you”. One of the gift boxes and phone sets (see below) was sold at Christie's with an estimated price of $2,900–4,200. EON Productions retained the second unit.
