Features

This device was HMD Global's first 5G phone and the first Nokia-branded phone to support 5G. As the first smartphone to use the Qualcomm 5G RF front end, it was marketed as "a truly global, future-proof 5G smartphone" but by the time it launched there were several other devices able to make this claim. The phone was also featured in the James Bond movie, No Time To Die which was repeatedly delayed as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic. The film was originally scheduled to be released on 3 April 2020 which would have coincided with the launch of the 8.3 5G, but the film eventually did not arrive until April 2021. HMD Global embarked on a global advertising campaign with the strapline ‘The Only Gadget You Will Ever Need’. The phone is used in the movie by 00 agent, Nomi.
