Features

The K600i was announced at the 3GSM World Congress in Cannes, France. It was a 3G handset which Sony Ericsson described as “a groundbreaker in design, performance and functionality.” The company felt it had ”moved the boundaries of phone design a stage further and delivered a real classic – a sleek, durable, lightweight phone that would appeal to a very wide audience.” Sony Ericsson was very proud of how small it had made the phone compared to other 3G devices at the time and its head of design Hiroshi Nakaizumi commented at the launch that “the age of bulky 3G handsets was over.” The silver plastic casing was described as having an “aluminium feel”. The phone had a 1.3-megapixel camera with a circular sliding lens cover which Sony Ericsson called an "active lens cover”. The K600i also supported video telephony which was a key feature on 3G networks. It could hand video calls with just “a few clicks with the use of a direct video telephony button.”
