Features

When announced by Japanese network operator J-Phone, the J-SH53 was described as "the world’s first-megapixel mobile handset". It was made by Sharp. At launch, the phone was initially to be offered in a limited quantity of 300 through four J-Phone-owned shops in Tokyo. Sales were then to be expanded nationwide. The phone’s CCD camera was capable of taking pictures up to a maximum resolution of 1,144 by 858 pixels and could also send and receive MPEG-4 format video clips. The phone was designed for J-Phone’s picture-phone service, Sha-mail.
